Grace + Giveaway

DaySpring sent me the Grace Jewelry Set from their Redeemed Grace line for review.
The set includes earrings, key chain and bracelet. It’s classic enough to keep forever and is infused with a wonderful vintage style. I L-O-V-E it!
I wore it to work last week and received loads of compliments so it truly has my stamp of approval. While wearing the bracelet, I happened to notice that 1 Corinthians 15:10 is inscribed on the back.  I love this verse because it speaks of the grace God has given to me.
Here’s what 1 Corinthians 15:10 says:
“But whatever I am now, it is all because God poured out his special favor on me–and not without results. For I have worked harder than any of the other apostles; yet it was not I but God who was working through me by his grace.”

Simply wearing the jewelry and being reminded of Paul’s words struck a chord with me. It reminded me that the person I am today is not the person I have always been. I have made mistakes and failed miserably at endeavors I tried to accomplish on my own. I left home when I was eighteen and tried to flap my little birdie wings… I made a lot of mistakes. In 2006, my life started turning around. After a series of really bad decisions and a broken spirit, I realized that God continued to pour out his love to me. His loved continued to flow generously, despite my constant rebellion and selfishness. His special favor saved my life and my soul and for that I am grateful. I have learned how to embrace the life God has perfectly designed for me and work diligently everyday to bring honor and glory to him. Like Paul, I am not boastful about the favor that has been so generously given to me… I have learned to humbly accept his grace.

If you want to be reminded of his grace and think this jewelry set is really glam, guess what?!? I am giving a set away! Winner will be announced on Friday, May 20 so enter now!

Weekend Love.

I had so much fun this weekend. J was out of town and I had the house and the schedule all to myself. I have always been independent so enjoy alone time very much (sleeping alone is for the birds though!).
On Saturday, I attended the Arthritis Walk and had the pleasure of working with a committee to ensure that this event was a success. We met at the Legends ballpark at 6:30 AM to get everything set up for the event. The weather was wonderful and the turn-out was impressive. During the walk, they had a local emcee announce and briefly interview some of the honorees for the walk. One little guy, Cameron stood out to me the most. He was diagnosed with arthritis at an early age and has proven to be quite the fighter. His family has travelled all over the nation and educated folks by reminding them that “kids get arthritis too!”— SO SWEET!

After the walk, I went to celebrate the first birthday of my long-time friend’s baby boy! We had such a great time watching him interact with the other kiddos. My other friend Margaret and I represented the high school group of friends that afternoon and I think we did a pretty great job!

The weekend wrapped up with a ladies night at Nick Ryan’s Saloon ( a local restaurant… DELISH) and a Sunday filled with relaxation and the return of my man
I love the weekends because I can PLAY! What fun things did you do this weekend?

On Repeat: Norah Jones

I’m a HUGE fan of all things Norah Jones… When NPR released her CD a couple of weeks ago, I was absolutely delighted. This song, Happy Pills has been on repeat for several weeks and is one of my new faves!
If you aren’t hooked on the new CD by this song, keep listening, Little Broken Hearts  will not disappoint! Every song reminds me why I still love her after all these years!
Enjoy!
